In
legend, the Phoenix was an immortal bird that burst into flame
and was born again from its own ashes.
In
this interpretation of the legend, the Phoenix is a beautiful
woman with radiant wings being consumed from a fire burning
within. The triumphant pose of the figure and the stained glass
colors of the wings add to the feeling of emergence and rebirth.
