Have
a special friend who shares you love of the outdoors and perhaps
gardening in Spring or Summer? Someone with whom you gather flowers
and ponder the transient beauty of things that don't last?
This print is dedicated to that spiritual
connection that people
have in beauty, nature, sharing interests and the appreciation
of ties that go beyond the fading of flowers or the seasons in
a year or a life. In bright, but soft colors, the artist has captured
this kind of connection between two young Egyptian women picking
lotus blossoms and decorating themselves with flowers.
The lotus has profound symbolism through various ages and cultures.
Because the flower arises from pond scum and blooms perfectly
clean, facing the sun and sky, many cultures use it as a metaphor
forpurity and a way of transcending/ overcoming the concerns of
every day life. In Ancient Egypt, it was also a metaphor for rebirth,
wisdom and the purity of the soul.
This print is a lovely, decorative piece that would complement
almost any interior.
